Virtual Private Servers (VPS):

A shared web hosting service or virtual hosting service or derive host refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server connected to the Internet. Each site "sits" on its own partition, or section/place on the server, to keep it separate from other sites. This is generally the most economical option for hosting, as many people share the overall cost of server maintenance.

Personal Dedicated Servers:

A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting> in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone else. This is more flexible than shared hosting, as organizations have full control over the server(s), including choice of operating system, hardware, etc.

Microsoft Hosted Exchange:

Hosted Exchange is a service in the telecommunications industry whereby a provider makes a Microsoft e-mail box and space available on a server so its clients can host their data on the server. The provider manages the hosted data of its clients on the server. Clients can access their emails, address book, task management and documents from different places and through various media. The e-mails are routed to a laptop or mobile phone through push technology.

Secure Socket Layer
(Most commonly used for stores to encrypt billing data):

Transport Layer Security (TLS) and its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), are cryptographic protocols which are designed to provide communication security over the Internet. They use X.509 certificates and hence asymmetric cryptography to assure the counter-party whom they are talking with, and to exchange a symmetric key. This session key is then used to encrypt data flowing between the parties. This allows for data/message confidentiality, and message authentication codes for message integrity and as a by-product message authentication.

Modern email operates across the Internet or other computer networks. Some early email systems required that the author and the recipient both be online at the same time, in common with instant messaging. Today's email systems are based on a store-and-forward model. Email servers accept, forward, deliver, and store messages. Neither the users nor their computers are required to be online simultaneously; they need connect only briefly, typically to a mail server, for as long as it takes to send or receive messages.

It seems these days that everyone has a website. Whether that site is informational, e-commerce, content management, or advertisement, it is important to brand your ideas and get the clientele to see it.

This is web presence.

Generally, you'd pick a domain (your website's name) and get some manner of hosting (the location where your website files are stored) and create the design (the files themselves). Once this is all live, you need to optimize your website in the eyes of the search engines and start pushing to view your site and take home whatever you are offering, be it information or that new must-have item that you have for sale. If you are selling something and expect credit card payment or PayPal, you will need appropriate encryption and configuration so your clients' billing information is safe. If you are advertising, how do you get the information from the vender to your site in such a way that your viewers will see it? Once it is live, how do you drive people to see it?

It can be daunting to have to figure this all out and know how to put the pieces together. That is where we come in. We can provide all of the elements to get your site live and operational, as well as help to explain what all of the different products and services are that are out there to better meet your needs.
